This series of paintings was inspired by the dynamic forms of comic book heroes and dancers. I wanted to create paintings that were simultaneously abstract and figurative. By painting the figurative images as flat forms (suggesting dimensional anatomy via line, color, and texture) on a flat background, the eye is lead into and around both as elements of equal importance.
